Mercy Academy host STEM showcase

Mercy Academy will host STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Showcase Night Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at the school’s Stock Yards Bank Theatre, 5801 Fegenbush Lane. The event will include a ribbon cutting for the new STEM innovation center and demonstrations of projects by students.

126 St. Xavier students earn AP honors from college board

The College Board’s Advance Placement Program has recognized 126 St. Xavier High School students. The designation is based on the students’ performance on exams administered in May. Forty-nine students were recognized as AP Scholars. Thirty-six were recognized as AP Scholars with honor and 41 students honored as AP Scholars with distinction.

St. Xavier wins several state championships

Several sports teams at St. Xavier High School have won state championship titles recently. The tennis team won its seventh consecutive KHSAA state championship, the lacrosse team won the Kentucky Scholastic Lacrosse League state championship, the rugby team earned the Kentucky Youth Rugby state title and the volleyball team won its second state title.
