Pink and White game

Students from Sacred Heart Academy, Assumption High, St. Xavier High, and Trinity High schools presented a $20,000 check to the Norton Cancer Institute Breast Health Program on June 13.
The money was raised at the seventh annual Pink and White Flag Football Game on April 25 at Trinity High School.
Since its inception, the game has raised more than $150,000 for breast cancer programs, a news release from the schools said.
The event included a special pre-game ceremony to honor breast cancer survivors and to remember loved ones who had passed away from the disease. Players from the Assumption and Sacred Heart football teams, as well as halftime dancers from St. X and Trinity, each escorted a survivor onto the field and presented them a pink rose.
Some students memorialized a family member or friend who had passed away from breast cancer by releasing a pink helium balloon in their honor, the release said.
The Assumption Rocket’s won the flag football game 12-6 over the Sacred Heart Valkyries. A halftime dance routine was performed by St. X and Trinity students to cheer on the girls’ teams.
