Food drive

Assumption High School collected 8,278 pounds of food for the Dare to Care Food Bank during this year’s annual CANstruction event.

The two-week event kicked-off Nov. 6, and culminated with students working with their school families to reach the goal of collecting 7,000 pounds of food. During the event’s final day, Nov. 20, students gathered in homerooms to construct a structure out of the cans they collected — CANstruction. The structures were then photographed and all the families compiled their collected can goods to deliver to Dare to Care
Food Bank where they were weighed.

Last year the school collected 7,063 pounds of food during the annual event.
